Description
“To walk among the dead without fear, one must abandon
violence, for peace is the truest armor.” — Arfingr the Gentle

“The Crypt Wanderer Amulet was forged in the late years of the Second Era by Arfingr the Gentle, a Nord scholar of the College of Winterhold renowned for his wisdom and compassion. Though a master of Illusion, Arfingr was first and foremost a teacher, beloved by his students for his calm spirit and his profound reverence toward the ancestors of his people. While many mages saw the draugr as abominations to be destroyed, or, at best, pacified temporarily through spells of Illusion, Arfingr saw in them echoes of his forebears: warriors, dreamers, fathers, and mothers. To destroy them was to destroy memory itself.

Unsatisfied with the fleeting calm spells known among illusionists, and unwilling to rely on violence or flames, Arfingr sought a more humane answer. After years of study, he created an enchantment so powerful it could cloak a living soul in the guise of death itself. The Crypt Wanderer Amulet feeds constantly upon its wearer’s magicka, drawing from it like a living battery to sustain a perfect illusion, convincing even the most ancient draugr that the bearer is one of their kin. The spell’s brilliance lies in its simplicity: even the weakest novice, one barely able to conjure a flicker of flame, could walk unharmed through the darkest tombs of Skyrim.

Yet Arfingr’s pacifism is woven deep into the amulet’s heart. Any act of aggression, be it a swung sword, a drawn bow, or even a strike into empty air, shatters the enchantment instantly. When broken, the illusion collapses and the dead remember their hate, tearing apart the illusionist who dared to betray their peace. Thus, through this artifact, Arfingr ensured that his philosophy would endure: “Those who walk among the dead must do so with peace in their hands, or perish with the restless.”

Features:
- 1 new amulet: Crypt Wanderer Amulet, with the following effects:

(the “Draugr resisted Fear” message on the video is relative to the weapon I am using, and not part of the amulet’s system)

– While worn, the wearer becomes an honorary member of the “Dragon Priest Faction”, being ignored, or even aided in rare occasions, by the Draugr and Dragon Priests. The initial idea was for you to join the “Draugr Faction”, but it’s allied with spiders, skeevers, skeletons, and necromancers in the game mechanics, as well as vampires and others, so I opted for the “Dragon Priest Faction” since it’s only allied with Draugrs and the Dragon Priests themselves (technically a higher type of Draugr). The faction also has some relational proximity to Dragons, but nothing special. In lore and practical terms, it remains an illusion that makes you accepted by the Draugr, regardless of the specifics behind the scenes;
– Constantly drains Magicka as the illusion sustains itself (not designed for use with god mode);
– Emits a faint Illusion aura while active;
– Automatically unequips if the wearer performs any act of aggression (swinging a weapon,
drawing a bow, or attacking bare-handed), immediately dispelling the illusion;
– When broken, the illusion collapses, and nearby Draugr return to hostility;
– The amulet’s enchantment cannot be reactivated until combat has fully ended;
– Other creatures in the dungeons, such as Frostbite Spiders and Skeevers, will still attack you even with the amulet equiped, and attacking them breaks the amulet’s pacifist effect, thus forcing you to use it intelligently and adding another immersive disadvantage to the roleplay;
– Followers, summons, and pets are not protected by the enchantment;
– Because it was created by a truly powerful mage, but one who neither mastered nor understood the workings of Thu’um, the amulet cannot remove the power of the Dragonborn’s Voice, allowing him to use it while maintaining the amulet’s effect. – – – – However, after a few attacks, the illusion will eventually shatter in the mind of the Draugr or Dragon Priest being attacked, who will see you for who you truly are and initiate combat.

Location:
Found in the Arch-Mage’s Quarters at the College of Winterhold, once the player has become Arch-Mage.

Gameplay Note:
The amulet will not interfere with quests that require fighting Draugr. On your first aggressive action, it will automatically unequip itself, rendering the illusion inactive. Attempting to re-equip it mid-combat is futile, its ancient magic needs peace to reset.

Compatibility:
So far no incompatibilities have been found between this mod and other mods.
(OBS- If by chance when installing several of Mihail’s mods at the same time you are asked about files overwriting those of other Mihail mods or other authors mods, don’t worry because they are just the same files shared between mods. I recommend that on these occasions always give preference to the files contained in my mods, and among mine always give preference to the mod you are installing last.)

Series/saga:
The Mihail Armors and Clothes series provides high quality and immersive armor, clothing and other accessories, especially aiming to bring unique and rarely produced content in this area already so explored by many other authors.
